TULKARM: The Palestinian health ministry reported that two Palestinians were killed by Israeli gunfire on Friday in the occupied West Bank, one by soldiers and the other by settlers.

Qusai Jamal Maatan, 19, was "shot dead by settlers in the village of Burqa," east of Ramallah, it was claimed late on Friday.

The Israeli military did not react right away.

Another young Palestinian was killed by a soldier's gunshot earlier.

According to a statement from the Palestinian health ministry, Mahmoud Abu Saan, 18, was killed this morning in Tulkarm by live bullets fired by Israeli occupation forces.

According to the Israeli army, while troops were on patrol, suspects opened fire and threw explosives and stones at the soldiers, who then opened fire back.

The statement said, "Hits were identified," adding that no soldiers were harmed.

Abu Saan was "shot in the head by the occupation soldiers at zero distance," according to Wafa, the official Palestinian news agency.

The Palestinian flag was draped over Abu Saan's head at his funeral, and his body was carried through the town's streets before being buried.
