According to a statement released by the Foreign Office (FO), Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng will arrive in Pakistan on Sunday for a three-day visit. While there, he will take part in a ceremony to commemorate the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project's 10th anniversary.

Lifeng would also meet with President Dr. Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during the visit, it was reported.

The FO praised Lifeng's "prominent role" in China's foreign economic ties and the Belt and Road Initiative, of which CPEC is a flagship project, as well as the implementation of such initiatives.

He was "instrumental in the planning and implementation of multiple CPEC projects in Pakistan" while serving as chairman of China's National Development and Reform Commission from 2017 to 2023, according to the FO.

The press release said, "His visiting is part of routine high-level interactions and dialogue between Pakistan and China and shows the importance of further deepening their partnership, boosting economic and financial cooperation, enhancing the high-quality development of CPEC, and analyzing new avenues for strengthening trade and investment relations."
